During the week, the Department of Public Safety and the National Weather Service will be promoting severe weather safety and emergency preparedness information. In addition, statewide tornado drills will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Outdoor warning signs and NOAA Weather Radios will sound in a simulated tornado warning. This annual public education event is designed to remind everyone that it is essential to plan ahead for Minnesota’s severe spring and summer weather.
