[ARCHIVED] Reception to Honor Outgoing Mayor Marc Johannsen and Council Member Jerry Auge

Join us on Wednesday, December 21 at 5:30 pm at City Hall, to honor outgoing Mayor Marc Johannsen and Council Member Jerry Auge for their years of service.

Marc Johannsen was elected as a Council Member in November 1994, and began his term in January 1995. He was a Council Member until 10/19/11 when he was appointed to fill the position of Mayor, due to the resignation of Susan Banovetz, with a term to expire 12/31/12. He has fulfilled the position of Mayor ever since then.

After almost 22 years on the Council Mayor Johannsen had decided not to run for reelection. Johannsen stated, “My children are entering their junior year in high school and I would like to be more available and to enjoy their last few years before they leave the nest. This has been a hard decision as I really enjoy my work with the City of Vadnais Heights. We have built a first rate community and I want everyone to know that I am very proud of all the things that have been accomplished over the years. The recent City Survey shows that the community is happy with what we are doing. As such, I will leave the Council at a time when things are running quite smoothly. Our future looks very bright.”

Jerry Auge started his term on the Council in 2009 after winning a council seat at the 2008 Municipal Election. He has served for eight years and also decided not to run for reelection. Prior to being on the Council, Auge was the Part-Time Fire Chief from 1990 to 2003.

Please join us on December 21 to thank these two men for their years of service to the Vadnais Heights community!
