Are you a parks enthusiast with a budding interest in plants, pollinators, and water?
Teams of local folks just like you are forming to help keep the City's growing network of raingardens (and other green infrastructure) ship shape! These projects play a big role in filtering and storing stormwater runoff while providing valuable pollinator habitat and beautification to our parks.
The program is a joint effort between volunteers and public works staff, and is hosted by VLAWMO. Staff help provide the training and heavy lifting, and volunteers help staff stay balanced on other important tasks such as streets and potholes. Many hands make light work and with each new team member we all get more familiarized with this special type of landscaping.
