Vadnais Heights seeks professional, strategic, and collaborative candidates for its next Public Works Director. The Public Works Director oversees engineering services, street and utilities construction and maintenance, trails/sidewalks, and parks facilities.
The department’s operational budget for 2023 is approximately $5 million. The Public Works Director is also responsible for managing the Capital Improvement Program budget. The department has a total staff of 15 FTEs and seasonal employees. The public service workers are represented by a collective bargaining agreement.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, public works management, public administration or closely related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in public works management, engineering or infrastructure maintenance and operations.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a related role.
- Equivalent or any combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be considered.
- Professional Engineer license is preferred.
