[ARCHIVED] Waste Management Updates

Update - August 29, 2022

If you’re a Waste Management (WM) customer and you’ve been missing curbside yard waste removal – good news, WM is bringing the service back to customers on September 14, just in time for fall yard clean up! We appreciate everyone’s patience as our refuse haulers worked through staffing challenges and route schedules to get regular collection back on track. Any customer who previously had the yard waste collection service will be reinstated starting on the aforementioned date. Until then, a drop off site for yard debris remains in the City Hall parking lot.

Also, keep in mind Ramsey County has several compost drop off sites in the area, free to residents with a photo ID. Click here to find a location near you, as well as details on accepted items and hours of operation.

Original Notice

You’re probably aware Waste Management has suspended curbside yard waste pick up due to a shortage in drivers. The City continues to work with Waste Management to find a solution, not only for the curbside yard waste program, but also general widespread service/collection issues many Vadnais Heights customers have been experiencing.

In the meantime, do NOT fill your yard waste bin, rather we ask that you utilize the designated yard waste container located at 3595 Arcade St (City Hall). Accepted yard waste items include:

  • Tree trimming/branches
  • Leaves, and house/garden plants
  • Brush, grass clippings and lawn edging

Space is limited in the dumpster; if dumpsters are full, please wait until they are emptied or drop off items at a Ramsey County collection siteAny charges for yard waste pickup have been credited back to affected customers.

Additionally, the seven Ramsey County yard waste collection sites continue to be available. To find times and hours, visit www.ramseyrecycles.com/yardwaste.

In an effort to communicate more effectively with Waste Management, if your garbage/recycling was missed and is not picked up by Thursday evening, residents can report missed pickups here. Please leave your bin at the curb until emptied.
