[ARCHIVED] Please Don’t Put Leaves in the Street

While fall is a beautiful time of year, the falling leaves create problems when they clog up storm sewer catch basins and curb in front of properties. Please do not blow or dispose of your leaves into city streets. It is against both city ordinance and state statues to dispose of leaves into streets. They create a mass of material that prevents water to runoff, particularly when they are wet or freeze.

We do not have any program to collect leaves on a citywide basis. Ramsey County does provide disposal sites that are free for property owners. See the link below for hours and locations of the yard waste sites. If you have any questions about leaf disposal or the problems that they create for city infrastructure, please contact City Engineer Mark Graham at 651-204-6050 or at mark.graham@cityvadnaisheights.com.
