[ARCHIVED] Road Closure on North End of International Drive, October 18-20

Weather permitting, the north end of International Drive will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, October 18 through Thursday, October 20.

As you likely have noticed, there is a new building under construction on the northwest corner of the Sports Center property. This building, Gentry Academy, will be a three story structure. The walls will be concrete tip up panels that are installed with a crane. Each panel is approximately 50 feet tall and will be set on the new building footings that have been recently poured.

In order to install these panels and provide the necessary clear space for safety, the contractor will need to close the north end of International Drive for approximately three days. Weather permitting, this work is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, October 18 through Thursday, October 20.

The south leg of the intersection of International Drive and County Road E will be closed, so motorists will not be able to make any turns at this intersection. Advance signing will be placed next week for this work. A detour route utilizing County Road E, TH 61 and Willow Lake Boulevard will be posted.

The only commercial driveway that will be closed within the work area is the north driveway to Tousley Motorsports. All other driveways along International Drive, including the south driveway to Tousley Motorsports, will be open and accessible at all times. However, access will be available only from Willow Lake Boulevard.

If you have any questions about this temporary road closure, please contact City Engineer Mark Graham at 651-204-6050 or at mark.graham@cityvadnaisheights.com.
