Terms for Mayor (2 year term) and two City Council Members (4 year term) will be on the November 6 General Election ballot. Terms will begin on the first business day of January 2019. Mayor and council members commit to attending approximately three to four meetings per month. A candidate for mayor or city council must:
- Be an eligible voter
- Have no other affidavit on file as a candidate for any other offices at the same time
- Be at least 21 years old when assuming office, and
- Have maintained a residence in Vadnais Heights for at least 30 days before the general election.
Each candidate must fill out an affidavit of candidacy and submit a $5.00 filing fee. File your affidavit of candidacy at City Hall from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, between July 31 and August 13 or from 8 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, August 14.
