I-694/Rice Street Bridge Interchange Project

About the Project

Ramsey County is requesting state funding in 2017 for a project to analyze, design and reconstruct the interchange at I-694 and Rice Street adjacent to the communities of Shoreview, Little Canada and Vadnais Heights in 2019 or 2020 depending on project funding. The county has already received $7 million in federal funding. No final decisions on this project have been made, as all funding sources have not been determined.  It is hoped that the majority of funding will be provided by federal and state resources.  However, all three of the cities will have some cost participation in the project.  This project was discussed at the April 20, 2016 City Council regular meeting and the January 4, 2017 City Council workshop meeting.
