Voting Absentee/Voting Early

You can vote either in person or through the mail. If you wish to vote by mail, you can apply at any time! For more information on absentee voting and for an absentee ballot application, visit Ramsey County's website.

Vote by Mail


Use the online absentee ballot request or submit your completed absentee ballot application in person, by mail, email or fax it to Ramsey County.

Receiving Your Absentee Ballot


  • If you apply before absentee voting begins, your ballot will be mailed to you 46 days prior to the election.
  • If you apply within 46 days of the election, your ballot will be mailed to you within one business day of your application being received.

Returning Your Voted Absentee Ballot


Voted ballots must be received on or before Election Day. Return your voted ballot by mail or in person.

Return by Mail


Mail your ballot back in the pre-paid, pre-addressed envelope that was provided with your ballot materials.

Ballot must be received on or before Election Day. If you don't think your ballot will be received in time using regular mail, you may choose to pay for an express delivery service. Ballots can be received from an express delivery service until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Return in Person


You or someone else may return your ballot in person to Ramsey County Elections or to the Vadnais Heights City Hall by 3 p.m. on Election Day. Please note: Persons delivering ballots may do so for only three voters in each election.

Vote Absentee in Person

 
Prior to the General Election on November 8, you can vote absentee in person. Beginning September 23, any Ramsey County voter can visit the Ramsey County office at 90 Plato Blvd. W to vote in person. Visit Ramsey County’s website for in-person absentee hours.

You may also cast your absentee ballot at Vadnais Heights City Hall, 800 East County Road E, Monday through Friday, October 24 – November 4 from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Special hours will also be held on Saturday, November 5, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Monday, November 7 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

To save time, you may complete your application now and bring it when you visit.
