2017 Residential Street Improvement Projects

Updated: 4/6/17

The City of Vadnais Heights annually performs a street improvement project to maintain the City’s infrastructure. Streets are selected based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, pavement condition, years of service, traffic volumes, maintenance costs and available finances. The City prepared a feasibility study for potential street improvements in 2017.

A formal public hearing for the potential 2017 street improvements project was held at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.  Letters were sent to approximately 200 property owners to solicit input.  Bids were received on March 30, 2017 for the following four streets.  Bids were slightly below our construction cost estimate.

  1. Oakhurst Avenue from Clearbrook Lane to the north cul-de-sac
  2. Bramblewood Avenue from Highway 96 to Greenhaven Drive
  3. Willow Grove Lane from Bramblewood Avenue to Greenhaven Drive
  4. Heritage Court West from Evergreen Drive to the west cul-de-sac

Next Steps

A public assessment hearing will be held by the City Council at the Wednesday, May 3, 2017 meeting.  A cover letter outlining the estimated assessments for each property and the formal meeting notice have been mailed to each affected property owner.  A notice will also be published in the Vadnais Heights Press.
